Commercial award success hailed as ‘important milestone’

We are celebrating our first commercial award success after taking top prize at a prestigious ceremony.

The Yorkshire Commercial Real Estate Awards 2025 were held at Harrogate’s Rudding Park on Thursday (May 1) to celebrate talented individuals and influential businesses that are thriving in the county’s property sector.

The full turnkey letting at 2 Whitehall Quay in Leeds to the National Wealth Fund (NWF) was crowned the winner of the ‘Best Office’ deal award at the ceremony.

We represented the tenant NWF throughout the process and helped broker the deal with Fox Lloyd Jones (FLJ) on behalf of landlords Britannia Invest A/S and its asset manager Catella APAM.

Our commercial team identified the building as a prime location that met NWF’s key business requirements, which led to the company committing to a 15-year lease for nearly 29,000 sq ft of newly-refurbished office space.

The award represents a first major accolade for our commercial contingent – who buy, sell and let out a wide range of properties including office space, industrial, retail and development sites nationally.

Our managing director, Ron Walton, said: “This is a fantastic achievement with our commercial agency team recognised alongside Yorkshire’s rising stars in the property sector.

“This represents an important milestone for the company with our first commercial award which is the culmination of a huge amount of hard work and dedication shown by everybody.

“I would like to the team whose collaboration and perseverance helped to broker the NWF deal at Whitehall Quay.”

Our commercial agency director, Daniel Clinch, was instrumental in brokering the deal at Whitehall Quay and thanked all parties involved.

He said: “This deal was an excellent outcome for everyone concerned and has now rightly been held up as an outstanding example within the commercial property industry.

“This would not have been possible without clear communication and teamwork between several key stakeholders, in particular NWF – previously known as the UK Infrastructure Bank – as the tenant and FLJ on behalf of the landlords.

“It’s great for everyone involved to be recognised in this way.”

Since 2016, we have completed more than 1,000 projects worth £500 million and now boast a multi-disciplinary team of architects, engineers, commercial agents, project managers and sustainability experts based in five regional offices, including in Northallerton, Kendal and Otley.

Our team is continuing to work with private clients and public organisations including North Yorkshire Council on a diverse range of projects, such as making thousands of homes more energy efficient and creating cutting-edge designs to inspire town centre regeneration.

These efforts saw us win seven separate awards in 2024 including Energy Consultancy of the Year at the North East Energy Efficiency Awards.
