Align and North Yorkshire Council on target in £300 fundraiser for charity
A charity football match organised by Align has helped to raise £300 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Employees at Align pulled on their boots for the inaugural charity competition against their counterparts at North Yorkshire Council.
Four teams from Align and the council lined up against each other at the tournament, which was held at Northallerton Leisure Centre on Thursday (July 24), to promote collaboration and raise vital funds for a worthy cause.
An Align side captained by Craig Nelson and Neil Linfoot came out on top in the four-way shootout. The funds raised will help support the BHF’s life-saving research into heart and circulatory diseases each year.
Managing director at Align, Ron Walton, said: “We are proud of the relationship we have with our colleagues at North Yorkshire Council and this was an opportunity for people from different departments to join together in the name of charity.
“We work with the council on a wide range of projects each week – whether it’s making homes and businesses more energy-efficient, developing complex architectural designs, or helping to inspire town centre regeneration.
“It was therefore great to see our employees and the council embrace the event whilst raising money for a fantastic cause.
“I’d like to thank everyone who played their part in helping to make the event a success.”
The trophy was presented to the winning team by members of Northallerton Juniors Football Club’s Under-12 side, whose kit is sponsored by Align.
