Suppliers sought to aid decarbonisation drive across North Yorkshire

A new framework has been launched to deliver the decarbonisation and retrofit of private and social housing across North Yorkshire.

Align Property Partners, North Yorkshire Council’s multi-disciplinary building design consultancy, is welcoming applications from contractors to assist in the rollout of up to £300 million worth of energy efficiency upgrades to homes.

The latest phase of the scheme aims to renovate private and socially-rented properties worst affected by problems such as poor-quality insulation and ineffective heating systems.

Align is particularly looking for bids from suppliers who can take on the role of principal contractor, or groups of suppliers who come together providing one or more of the services required as part of a group or consortium.

The new framework will support prospective works as part of the latest wave of the Government’s warm homes local grant and social housing funds.

Typical works covered under the framework will include air source heat pumps, solar PV systems, ventilation upgrades and draught proofing, as well as other maintenance and repairs.

Managing director of Align, Ron Walton, said: “Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, and by working with the council, we have provided hundreds of residents, businesses and other organisations with vital energy-saving advice and solutions.

“We are excited about maintaining this momentum in 2025 through this decarbonisation drive in North Yorkshire.

“The welfare of residents is paramount and we’re committed to ensuring any work carried out within their homes is completed as efficiently as possible, and most importantly, to the standard that they rightly expect and deserve.

“We anticipate that there will be significant work placed through this framework and encourage anyone who specialises in energy efficiency and shares our passion to get in touch.”

North Yorkshire Council’s executive member for housing, Cllr Simon Myers, said: “We’re committed to improving the energy efficiency of homes across the county and we’re proud to be working alongside our colleagues at Align to help achieve this.

“In doing so, we are protecting the environment as well as saving residents money on their energy bills, all as part of our wider commitment to be the UK’s first carbon negative region by 2040.”

The framework is now live and can be viewed at https://uk.eu-supply.com/ctm/Supplier/PublicPurchase/89634/0/.
