Align, NexGen, and the Future of Heating
Align’s award-winning sustainability team have been given a compelling insight into how infra-red technology could shape the future of heating and decarbonisation efforts.
We invited a number of local businesses, councils and other organisations to meet with Hampshire-based company NexGen at a special event held on Monday (February 24) at County Hall in Northallerton.
NexGen manufacture cutting-edge, energy-saving infra-red heating systems that have received global acclaim – changing the way we heat spaces, homes and workplaces.
They have developed an electric ceiling wallpaper that uses the physics of far infra-red as a green alternative in hard-to-heat homes.
The graphene-filled paper looks and feels like traditional wallpaper but is packaged with solar panels and a smart battery – and can help warm individual rooms more quickly.
The technology is designed to help residents make significant energy savings by focusing on heating people rather than unoccupied open spaces.
Operations director at Align, Mark Hall, said: “Sustainability is at the heart of what we do and we are working with a number of local authorities and other companies to drive forward decarbonisation and make homes and workplaces more energy-efficient.
“It’s important that we embrace new technology and work together on our path towards net zero, so it was great to welcome NexGen to North Yorkshire and find out more about their innovative approach.
“The use of infra-red technology in terms of the future of heating is an interesting concept so it was great to be able to find out more, as well as meet with local businesses, authorities and organisations who share our passion for sustainability.”
NexGen and Zenergy are working together as part of a carbon collaboration consortium aiming to roll out the energy saving upgrades using solar and infra-red technology, as well as AI data-driven analysis.
